The Big Move, PCG Theatrical & New Partnerships

It’s pretty spot-on to say that this year has been one of the most significant moments of my life.  After years of deliberating and weighing options, I decided to leave New York City and relocate to Nashville, Tennessee.  It was a decision that was based on several factors, but mostly focused on having a healthy environment for my family, having solid school options for my children, and having the space to pursue new horizons that only a departure could provide.  While there are things that I will always love about Manhattan, I felt that I did my time there and could exit with my head held incredibly high— having ticked off more boxes than I initially set out to pursue!

The reason that the Nashville move made sense in early February was due to an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up.  Early in the year I began collaborating with an established Nashville-based artist development company and have recently launched a specialized musical theatre education program called PCG Theatrical.  After spending a large part of the last 21-years on Broadway and West End stages, I’m thrilled to be able to provide aspiring performers with unprecedented training which is specifically customized for the individual who wants to reach their maximum potential in the musical theatre industry.   If you or someone you know wants the most authentic, real-world, in-the-trenches performance training— find out just what makes PCG Theatrical unlike anything else that’s available by heading to www.pcgtheatrical.com

The past 11-months have also provided me with some performance opportunities that have been absolutely thrilling.  One such performance happened when I was able to join up with the BBC Concert Orchestra and the UK’s BBC Radio 2 for a solo performance highlighting The Music Of David Bowie at the London Coliseum.  If you have followed my career for any length of time, it should be no surprise that Bowie has had a massive influence on me as a songwriter, performer and record producer.  To have the opportunity to deliver an evening’s worth of Bowie-material with such an iconic orchestra in a historical performance space was nothing short of epic!  During this period of time I’ve also been able to partner with some amazing philanthropic organizations such as The David Foster FoundationGateway For Cancer Research and others to raise millions of dollars to impact numerous families who are dealing with life-threatening diseases.  It’s been a blessed busy season.

I’ve also spent time establishing relationships with some amazing audio and lifestyle companies who are changing the game in their respective arenas.  In keeping with my annual “year end gift-giving” mentions you should check out the following companies if you’re looking for a special gift for a friend or family member.

AUDIO:

  • If you’re shopping for someone who loves to record check out Vanguard Audio Labs. They make absolutely brilliant microphones that should cost 10x what they do! I use them in my studio and recommend them to amateurs and professionals alike.

  • Arturia makes some of the most authentic software versions of vintage synths available. They also make killer hardware and their MiniLab MkII is one of the coolest portable keyboard controllers around. They even have an “inverted” (colour) version that is incredibly vibey!

LIFESTYLE

  • LG absolutely kills it across all their product lines. I just installed 2 LG televisions in our home and couldn’t be happier. (Now it’s time to address our aged refrigerator and kitchen appliances!)

  • I live in waxed denim and tee-shirts and I’ve finally found a tee that feels amazing, hangs properly and doesn’t cost a fortune. True Classic Tees is a company that has crafted the perfect fabric, fit and construction for our closet staple. Also, the kind people at "TCT" are giving my followers 10%-off at checkout by using the code "TONYV10"— without the quotations course. (By the way, I’d love a white, crew-neck subscription if anyone is asking!)

  • I’m a bit of a design and tech aficionado and when you combine both things with leather I’m done for! If you’re an iPhone/AirPod/Apple Watch owner, check out Nomad for sophisticated cases and wireless charging options. Also, head over to Mujjo to sexily cradle and transport your Apple devices. (I’m including both companies here because everyone has their own aesthetic and you can’t go wrong with either one.)

Happy gifting!
